BRUCE STREET
A new family home on a sloping site overlooking a tree lined reserve.
The lack of territorial boundaries in the neighborhood is celebrated through landscape and by giving back to the street. A series of densely vegetated courtyards define the building mass and contain space, providing privacy and a view through. Raked ceilings and double height volumes craft spaces of varying scales, addressing hierarchies of intimacy and the filtration of light. At the rear, the house becomes a device for observing landscape, absorbing the view of the tree canopies of the reserve beyond.
